Now this can be confusing even for me, but I can say that a flexible job is not like a freelance job. In a flexible job, You still can say that you are working for some fixed place and a certain employer. All that changes is work hours or locations. The employer still provides some services like health care and insurance. You are still controlled by the 40 hours per week 8 hours per day also. 

These are not like freelance jobs by any means. On a freelance job you are free to work with anyone , in any place and hours are free to define each project. But, the nightmare of fixed bills and the required stable income will come in and also pop up expenses and all that requires lots of planning on the freelancer side and also needs lots of commitments to your set plans too.
